ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of mechanical engineering is started in the year 2014-2015. It has been started with the objective to create outstanding diploma engineers, with advanced teaching and learning aids for the students. The department has well qualified faculty members and excellent laboratory facilities. The diploma program imparts students to master over the field of mechanical engineering besides knowledge of recent trends and development to shine as a successful engineer. Student gain practical experience from the mechanical engineering field requires an understanding of core areas including mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. In addition to these core principles, mechanical engineers use tools such as computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and product life cycle management to design and analyse manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, weapons, and others. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery.

Mission

  • To provide value based technical education and mould the character of younger generation.
  • Discharging Hands-on training to students for continuous improvement in knowledge , and skills with good sound practical exposure and hence satisfying stake holders in terms of quality man power for industries and good placement for students.
  • Providing professional ethics,leadership qualities ,self confidence ,decision making capabilities, good communication skills and empowerment to students to face challenges in the industries and the world.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POS)

  1. Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems
  2. Problem analysis: Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods
  3. Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
  4. Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements
  5. Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
  6.  Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
  7.  Life-long learning: Ability to analyze individual needs and engage in updating in the context of. technological changes.
