About the Department

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 2014–2015 with an intake of 60 students. The department is committed to developing technically competent and industry-ready professionals with strong knowledge in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, practical skills, problem-solving abilities, leadership and decision-making capabilities.

The department follows a practice-oriented approach to technical education, providing students with opportunities to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in electrical machines, electrical circuits, electronics, microcontrollers and embedded systems, electrical CAD, power electronics, PLC and automation, electric vehicle technology and other emerging areas. These areas are reflected in the Regulation 2023 curriculum for the Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The department aims to prepare students for employment in electrical and electronics industries, higher education, entrepreneurship and continuous professional development through academic learning, practical training and industry exposure.
