About the Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is committed to providing quality technical education and practical training in the fundamentals and applications of mechanical engineering. The department focuses on developing skilled and industry-ready professionals with strong knowledge of engineering mechanics, manufacturing processes, thermal engineering, machine design, production technology, and mechanical systems.
Students gain extensive hands-on experience through well-equipped laboratories and workshop facilities, covering machining, welding, fitting, manufacturing processes, thermal systems, metrology, CAD, and machine operations. Practical-oriented learning enables students to understand engineering concepts and apply them to real-world industrial problems.
The department emphasizes the development of technical competence, problem-solving abilities, creativity, safety awareness, teamwork, and professional ethics. Students are encouraged to participate in projects, technical activities, industrial visits, and skill-development programmes to strengthen their practical and professional capabilities.
With a focus on industry-oriented education, hands-on training, innovation, and continuous skill development, the department prepares students for career opportunities in manufacturing, production, automobile, mechanical maintenance, fabrication, engineering services, and related industries, while also encouraging entrepreneurship and lifelong learning.
