JCT Polytechnic College, through its National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 1 October 2026 from 10:00 AM onwards at the JCTPTC Seminar Hall, in association with Government Medical College & ESI Hospital, Coimbatore.
The programme was organized as part of the institution’s commitment to social responsibility, community service, and the welfare of society. The camp aimed to create awareness among students and staff about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to encourage the college community to support patients and individuals in need of blood.
The management of JCT Polytechnic College encouraged the initiative and motivated students and faculty members to actively participate in this noble cause. The NSS Unit coordinated the programme and ensured the smooth conduct of the blood donation activities in association with the medical team from Government Medical College & ESI Hospital, Coimbatore.
A significant number of students and faculty members voluntarily came forward to donate blood. Their enthusiastic participation demonstrated the strong sense of social awareness, compassion, and community responsibility nurtured by the institution. Students participated not only as donors but also supported the organizing team in creating awareness, coordinating activities, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the camp.
The participation of faculty members further strengthened the spirit of the programme, encouraging students to understand that even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference in someone's life. The donors generously contributed their blood to help patients undergoing treatment, accident victims, individuals requiring blood transfusions, and others facing medical emergencies.
The medical team conducted the donation process with appropriate medical screening and safety procedures, ensuring the well-being of all donors. The event also provided students with an opportunity to understand the importance of voluntary blood donation, healthcare awareness, and humanitarian service.
The Blood Donation Camp successfully reflected the institution’s efforts to develop students not only as technically skilled professionals but also as responsible citizens willing to contribute to society. The active involvement of students, faculty members, the NSS Unit, and the supporting medical team made the programme a meaningful community-service initiative.
