Industrial Visit to Best Heat Treatment – 2026

The Department of Automobile Engineering, JCT Polytechnic College, organized an industrial visit to Best Heat Treatment Services, SIDCO Industrial Estate, Coimbatore, on 27 January 2026. A total of 40 students from the First, Second, and Third Years of Automobile Engineering participated in the visit under the guidance of faculty members.

The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to industrial heat treatment processes and help them understand their importance in automobile component manufacturing. Industry experts explained various heat treatment techniques, including annealing, hardening, tempering, and case hardening, highlighting how these processes improve the strength, hardness, wear resistance, and durability of metal components.

The students observed heat treatment furnaces, quenching tanks, temperature control systems, and hardness testing machines. The experts also explained the application of heat treatment in manufacturing essential automobile components such as gears, shafts, and axles. Industrial safety practices and the importance of maintaining quality standards during manufacturing were also emphasized.

The visit provided students with valuable insights into real-world industrial practices and helped them connect theoretical concepts from Engineering Materials and Manufacturing Technology with practical applications. Interaction with industry professionals enhanced their technical knowledge and awareness of modern manufacturing processes.
