Conference Overview
The Department of Civil Engineering at JCT College of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous) successfully organized the 6th International Conference on Emerging Sustainable Technologies in Engineering (ICSET 2026) on 2 April 2026.
The prestigious international conference was conducted in a hybrid format, integrating physical and virtual participation to enable researchers, academicians, industry experts, faculty members and students from different locations to participate and exchange knowledge.
Objective of ICSET 2026
ICSET 2026 aimed to create a collaborative platform connecting academia, researchers and industry professionals to discuss emerging technologies and innovative solutions for sustainable engineering.
The conference encouraged the exchange of research ideas related to sustainable infrastructure, resilient structures, advanced engineering materials, computational approaches and technologies that can contribute toward creating smarter and more sustainable environments.
Inaugural Ceremony
The inaugural ceremony commenced in a traditional manner with a Prayer Song, followed by the ceremonial Lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and the formal commencement of the conference.
Dr. V. Murugesh, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and Convenor of ICSET 2026, delivered the welcome address and welcomed the distinguished guests, researchers, faculty members and participants.
Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, delivered the Presidential Address. He highlighted the institution's commitment to sustainable development and emphasized the importance of international academic collaboration in addressing contemporary engineering challenges.
