The Department of Petroleum Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, under the guidance of Dr. K. Ramachandran, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, successfully organized a technical webinar titled “A Comprehensive Overview of Cementing: From Slurry Preparation to Job Evaluation” on 25 September 2025.
The program was conducted at the JCTCET Seminar Hall and was also made accessible virtually through Google Meet, enabling wider participation in the technical learning session.

The webinar was designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of cementing operations in petroleum engineering, beginning with cement slurry preparation and extending through field execution and job evaluation.

Mr. Balaji Kumar delivered an in-depth technical session covering the different stages involved in cementing operations. Drawing from his field experience, he explained how proper planning, slurry preparation, equipment selection and execution contribute to successful well cementing.
