Workshop Overview

The Department of Petroleum Engineering, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at JCT College of Engineering and Technology, successfully organized an Awareness Workshop on “Entrepreneurship & Innovation as Career Opportunities” on 25 November 2025.

The program was conducted at the Seminar Hall at 10:00 AM with the objective of introducing students to entrepreneurship, innovation and emerging career opportunities in the petroleum and energy sectors.

Objective of the Workshop

The workshop aimed to empower students with the knowledge, awareness and mindset required to explore entrepreneurship and innovation as potential career pathways.

The program highlighted the importance of innovative thinking, industry-relevant skills and an entrepreneurial mindset in preparing engineering students to respond effectively to emerging opportunities and challenges in the petroleum and energy industries.

Entrepreneurship as a Career Opportunity

Dr. Ramachandran K delivered an interactive session that provided students with valuable insights into the practical aspects of entrepreneurship and the opportunities available for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The session encouraged students to look beyond conventional career pathways and understand how technical knowledge, creativity and problem-solving abilities can be transformed into innovative products, services and sustainable business ventures.
