The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) at JCT College of Engineering and Technology organized “A Research Workshop on Preparation and Submission of Funding Proposal” on 21 February 2026.
The workshop was organized with the objective of strengthening the quality of research funding proposals prepared by faculty members and students. The program provided valuable insights into the preparation, documentation, submission, and identification of suitable funding opportunities for research projects.
Objective of the Workshop
The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance awareness and practical understanding of the process involved in preparing and submitting effective funding proposals. The program aimed to encourage faculty members and students to explore research funding opportunities available through various State and National-level funding organizations.
The workshop also focused on improving the overall quality of project proposals developed within the institution by providing participants with guidance on proposal preparation, submission procedures, and available funding support.
Inaugural Session
The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. K. Malarvizhi, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems. She welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of developing innovative ideas, research initiatives, and an entrepreneurial mindset among faculty members and students.
Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, delivered the keynote address. During his address, he emphasized the importance of research and externally funded projects in strengthening academic excellence, innovation, and institutional research capabilities.
