Event Overview
JCT College of Engineering and Technology celebrated International Women’s Day on 7 March 2026 at the JCT Seminar Hall. The program was jointly organized by the Women Empowerment Cell and PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Cell.
The celebration recognized the achievements and contributions of women while creating awareness about women’s rights, empowerment, equality, safety and opportunities in society. Women faculty members and girl students enthusiastically participated in the program.
Objective of the Celebration
The primary objective of the International Women’s Day celebration was to promote awareness about women’s empowerment and encourage students to recognize the importance of equality, education, leadership, personal safety and professional development.
The program provided an interactive platform where students could learn from accomplished women representing diverse professional fields and gain valuable insights into career development, workplace equality, legal awareness, well-being and personal growth.
Welcome Address
The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Ms. Bhuvanika, Final Year student, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS).
She warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students and highlighted the significance of International Women’s Day as a celebration of equality, empowerment, achievement and respect for women across all spheres of life.
Presidential Address
Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, delivered the Presidential Address.
He emphasized the importance of empowering women through education, leadership and equal opportunities. He encouraged students to become confident and responsible individuals, pursue their ambitions and contribute positively to society.

The celebration was graced by distinguished women professionals from technology, telecommunications, industry, law enforcement, law and healthcare. Their diverse professional experiences provided students with valuable perspectives on empowerment and career development.

As part of the International Women’s Day celebration, engaging activities were organized for students and faculty members, adding enthusiasm and enjoyment to the occasion.
