JCTCET’s Department of EEE and ENSAV Club organized the “9 Mantras to Save 1 Unit per Day” awareness campaign and a Campus Energy Audit Drive in December 2025, engaging students, faculty and the public in energy conservation while supporting SDG-7 and SDG-13.

Program Overview
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with the ENSAV Club, organized a series of energy conservation activities during December 2025 to promote responsible energy consumption among students, faculty members and the general public.
The initiatives included the awareness campaign “9 Mantras to Save 1 Unit per Day” on 19 December 2025 and the “Campus Energy Audit Drive” on 23 December 2025.

“9 Mantras to Save 1 Unit per Day”
The energy conservation awareness campaign commenced from the Principal's Office and focused on educating the college community and the general public about simple and effective methods to reduce daily electricity consumption.
Poster circulation and interactive discussions were conducted to communicate practical energy-saving practices and encourage individuals to make energy conservation a part of their everyday activities.
Community Energy Awareness at Pichanoor
The awareness campaign extended beyond the college campus to Pichanoor village, enabling students to directly engage with the local community and promote responsible electricity usage.
A team consisting of 20 ENSAV Club student volunteers and 2 faculty members participated in the outreach activity. The team interacted with approximately 100 members of the general public and visited 20 shops in the village.
Through posters and direct interaction, the volunteers explained practical energy-saving methods and encouraged the community to adopt simple changes that can contribute to reducing unnecessary electricity consumption.

Campus Energy Audit Drive
As part of the activities associated with National Energy Conservation Day, the Department of EEE and ENSAV Club conducted a Campus Energy Audit Drive.
The activity involved 20 students and 2 faculty members and provided participants with practical exposure to observing and understanding electricity consumption across different facilities within the college campus.
Energy Audit Across the Campus
During the energy audit, students visited different electrical load centres across the campus to understand where and how electrical energy is consumed.

The activity enabled students to connect concepts related to electrical energy consumption and conservation with practical applications within their own campus environment.
Learning Through Practical Participation
The campaign provided students with an opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and actively participate in energy awareness, community outreach and campus-level energy assessment.
By interacting with the public and examining energy consumption across campus facilities, students gained a better understanding of their role as future engineers in promoting responsible and sustainable energy use.

The energy conservation initiatives enabled students to actively contribute toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy
Promoting awareness of efficient and responsible energy consumption and

Encouraging energy conservation practices that can contribute toward
reducing environmental impact and supporting climate-conscious
communities.
Program Outcome
The awareness campaign and Campus Energy Audit Drive successfully created awareness about the importance of energy conservation, efficient electricity usage and sustainable engineering practices.
Through direct community interaction and practical campus activities, ENSAV Club volunteers developed greater awareness of energy management while also spreading simple conservation practices among students, faculty members, shopkeepers and the general public.

Through community awareness and hands-on energy auditing, the Department of EEE and ENSAV Club encouraged students and the public to recognize that small changes in everyday energy consumption can collectively contribute toward a cleaner and more sustainable future.
