Seminar Overview
The Women Empowerment Cell, Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Cell and National Service Scheme (NSS) of JCT College of Engineering and Technology jointly organized a seminar on “Personality Development and Menstrual Hygiene” on 24 September 2025 at the JCT Seminar Hall.
The program was organized for girl students with the objective of providing them with essential life skills, self-development guidance and menstrual health awareness, contributing to their overall personal well-being and confidence.
Empowering Students Through Knowledge
The seminar focused on two important dimensions of student development: personality development and menstrual hygiene. By combining personal growth with health awareness, the program aimed to support the holistic development of girl students.
Participants were encouraged to develop confidence, positive attitudes and healthy habits while gaining reliable information about menstrual health and hygiene.
Welcome Address
The program commenced with a warm Welcome Address delivered by Ms. Preethi P., Final-Year CSBS student. She welcomed the dignitaries, resource persons, faculty coordinators and participating students and introduced the significance of the seminar.
Presidential Address
Dr. S. Selvakumar, Principal In-Charge and Head of the BTBC Department, delivered the Presidential Address.
He highlighted the importance of organizing programs that extend beyond academics and contribute to the physical, emotional and personal development of students. He emphasized that awareness, confidence and appropriate life skills play an important role in the holistic development of young women.
Resource Persons
Ms. Jayashree S. & Ms. Rakshana Devi Nagaraj
Eduscope, Coimbatore
The resource persons were introduced to the gathering by Ms. Jafia C., Second-Year CSE student. The introduction highlighted their role in delivering an informative and engaging session focused on personal development and menstrual health awareness.
Personality Development
The first major segment of the seminar focused on personality development. The resource persons shared practical guidance and motivational insights to help students improve their confidence, communication and approach towards personal growth.
Students were encouraged to understand their individual strengths, develop a positive mindset and continuously work towards improving their personal and professional capabilities.
Building Confidence & Essential Life Skills
The session encouraged students to recognize that personality development involves continuous improvement in the way individuals communicate, respond to challenges and interact with others.
The practical guidance provided during the session motivated participants to develop self-confidence, positive thinking, communication abilities and responsible decision-making skills that can support both academic and professional growth.
Menstrual Hygiene Awareness
The second key segment of the seminar focused on menstrual hygiene and health awareness. The session provided students with useful information about maintaining appropriate hygiene practices and understanding menstrual health with greater confidence and awareness.
Special attention was given to dispelling common myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation. The resource persons encouraged students to approach menstrual health through accurate information, open communication and healthy practices.

Collaborative Institutional Initiative
The seminar was coordinated by Prof. D. Vedha Vinodha, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Women's Cell coordinators from across the institution actively participated in the event, reflecting a collaborative effort to create a supportive, informed and empowering campus environment for female students.
Supporting Menstrual Hygiene
As part of the initiative to further promote menstrual health and hygiene, free sanitary napkin Goodie Packs from P&G Whisper were distributed to the participating students.
The distribution complemented the awareness session by reinforcing the importance of access to appropriate menstrual hygiene products and responsible health practices.
Student Participation & Feedback
The program witnessed active participation from girl students and Women's Cell coordinators. Students engaged with the topics presented during the session and gained practical insights that could be applied in their everyday lives.
Feedback received from the participants was highly positive, with many students expressing that the seminar was informative, relevant and beneficial.
