Celebration Overview
JCT Group of Institutions celebrated its 17th Annual Day, Sports Day and Cultural Day on 16 and 17 April 2026. The two-day celebration brought together students, faculty members, administrators, distinguished guests and achievers to celebrate the institution's academic excellence, sporting accomplishments and cultural talent.
The celebrations featured inspiring addresses by distinguished guests, recognition of academic and sports achievers, student performances, sporting activities and the vibrant HALARA 2026 cultural festival.
17th Annual Day Celebration
The Annual Day celebration commenced at 10:30 AM in the college auditorium with a traditional prayer song, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.
Dr. V. Jethose, Placement Director and Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, delivered the welcome address and formally welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students to the celebration.
Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, presented the comprehensive Annual Report, highlighting the institution's significant milestones, achievements and progress during the academic year.
Presidential Address
Shri R. Durga Shankar, Secretary, JCTCET, delivered the presidential address to the gathering. His address marked an important part of the Annual Day celebration and encouraged the students and faculty members to continue striving for excellence.
Annual Day Chief Guest
Mr. Sridhar Thiruppathi

The Chief Guest was introduced by Dr. B. Balraj, Dean Academics and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Mr. Sridhar Thiruppathi subsequently delivered an insightful keynote address focusing on industry readiness and employability.
Preparing Students for the Modern Workforce
In his keynote address, Mr. Sridhar Thiruppathi emphasized the importance of continuous skill development and encouraged students to prepare themselves for the evolving expectations of modern industries.

Honouring Academic Excellence
Following the keynote address, the Chief Guest presided over the awards ceremony, where academic toppers and Best Outgoing Students from various departments were recognized for their achievements.
Ms. M. Bhuvanika, a final-year student from the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, was honoured with the prestigious Best Outgoing Student of the College Award.
The Annual Day program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. K. V. Selvakumar, Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, followed by the National Anthem.
Sports Day Celebration
Following the Annual Day program, the Sports Day was celebrated in a grand manner at 2:00 PM on the college playground. The program commenced with Tamil Thai Valthu.
Ms. M. Bhuvanika, final-year student of AI&DS, delivered the welcome address, while Ms. P. Preethi, final-year student of CSBS, introduced the distinguished guests.
Mr. S. Senthilkumar, Physical Director, presented the Sports Day Report and highlighted the achievements of JCT students in various sporting events during the academic year.

During the address, the special guest shared valuable experiences from the world of sports and encouraged students to excel in both academics and sports. The efforts of faculty and staff members in training and supporting students were also appreciated.
Winners of various sporting events were honoured with certificates and medals by the distinguished guests and the Principal. Ms. V. Anush Miria, Assistant Professor, Science & Humanities, delivered the vote of thanks, and the Sports Day concluded with the National Anthem.
HALARA 2026 – Annual Cultural Day
HALARA 2026, the Annual Cultural Day of JCT College of Engineering and Technology, was vibrantly celebrated on 17 April 2026 on the college premises.
The celebration was graced by Principal Dr. S. Manoharan, along with faculty members, administrative staff and the student community. The festivities commenced with the traditional hoisting of the HALARA flag and ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
HALARA 2026 Highlights
A high-energy performance by drum beaters created an exciting atmosphere and marked the beginning of the cultural festivities. The program also featured an exhilarating car racing event, which attracted an enthusiastic audience and provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their driving skills.
Student talent took centre stage through solo and group singing, dance performances and various cultural activities. The innovative performances reflected contemporary trends and showcased the enthusiasm, creativity and active involvement of JCT students.
Musical Celebrations
The evening celebrations added further energy to HALARA 2026. DJ Deepika delivered an engaging performance that created a vibrant atmosphere and entertained the student community.
The second day featured special musical performances by Vijay TV Super Singer personalities Ms. Punya Selva, Ms. Priya Jerson, Ms. Vinaita Sivakumar and Mr. Siddharth Menon. Their energetic vocal performances became one of the major highlights of the cultural celebration and received an enthusiastic response from the students.
Celebrating Excellence Beyond Academics
The 17th Annual Day, Sports Day and HALARA 2026 brought together academics, sports, culture and entertainment in a memorable two-day celebration. The events provided students with opportunities to celebrate their achievements, demonstrate their talents and strengthen the spirit of unity and participation across the JCT community.
